We are remodeling my husband’s family’s farm house.  It is turning out to be soooo beautiful!  During the remodeling process, I have been pinning like crazy on Pinterest for DIY projects for our new home and checking out many decorating magazines for ideas.  I have also been watching a lot of HgTV.  By far, my favorite designer on HgTV is Genevieve Gorder.  Her show is called “Dear Genevieve”.  You should check her out.  She has such wonderful style–beautiful textures, accessories, ideas and wonderful, wonderful design.  I heart her.

Not only do I love her designs, but I also love her vocabulary and how she describes everyday items working together.  She doesn’t say, “this will go really well with this because…”.  She says, this chair is a really great piece on its own, but it also needs “friends”  (meaning other accessories).  Or, she will refer to a beautiful headboard as a “lady” and the bedding that dresses the bed needs to have many pieces that “dance” well with “her”.  I just love listening to her and really enjoy her show.

She truly cares about the people she works with and designs for.  A relationship and partnership is built there.  She is intelligent, compassionate, flexible, beautiful and a wonderful teacher.  She works incredibly hard and it shows in every little detail.

I admire her and hope my clients feel as much joy with their artwork as Genevieve’s clients feel when a room is designed for them.  Have a great day!
